Summary
During the German church struggle, a group of theologians gathered (Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Hermann Sasse) to write a new confession. This would be used in the resistance to National Socialism and address current issues. In addition to the classic topics of Christian theology, the confession also addresses the race question, the treatment of Jews, and the claims of the totalitarian state. A detailed historical introduction and a theological commentary have been written for the confession.
